The common tool that has opened the most doors for the core members of the “English Test” Foundation is their expert level of English. Having excellent language skills in English allowed our organisation to travel around the world and connect with many different peoples and cultures, which enabled our personal and professional growth to a much higher degree. That motivated us to invest even more effort in educational tools and innovative testing, which opens the same world of new adventures and opportunities for growth for our community.
Team
Damir’s passion for languages, especially English, as one of the most significant languages in the world, sent him all over the place to discover how it can connect people and how they can benefit from developing their language skills. He thinks that the potentials are limitless.
For Damir, a speaker of “small” European languages, Croatian and Slovenian, the English language has always been a tool to accomplish his bigger goals: he graduated from English, worked as a tourist guide in England, studied management in the United Kingdom, and Austria, graduated from the Coaching Academy in London and is now working in Slovenia, Belgium, Luxembourg, Croatia as an active management trainer and a business consultant. However, his passion for languages has never died.
As the owner and the director of a language school, Damir launched his first Online English Level Test as early as 2001, and it ran successfully in a few European countries. His long-years position as an official examiner for the University of Cambridge language exams helped him develop the testing skills even further, which he is now using to help English users worldwide.
Matjaž has been dealing with researching and developing new web solutions for the past 20 years.
His goal has always been to create innovative web tools and bring them to the user in the most friendly way. One of the solutions especially beneficial for society happens to be the English Level Test, which he successfully transformed from the analogue blueprint to an effective web solution. In the past ten years, he has been intensively working on taking his digital marketing knowledge to an even higher level to improve the user’s experience. The factor that allowed him to connect with the current foundation members and multiple other people that positively influenced his career is his excellent English level. As a part of a team that leads by example, Matjaž often credits his English as a very important tool.
Uroš’s love of languages is more or less connected with his passion for travel. He picked up a lot of his people relations skills as a tourist entertainer in hotels in Slovenia and Croatia. He upgraded this with a lot of theory by studying marketing at the University of Ljubljana. There he met with digital (marketing) and stayed in the industry ever since – first with the biggest Slovene search engine, where he crossed paths with Damir for the first time.
Later, he joined projects like some of the most prominent Slovenian niche web pages, which he helped develop and worked as head of sales. All of this professional growth and memorable experience wouldn’t be possible if his English weren’t at an expert level. Besides all those projects, he stayed true to his love for travel and worked as a national representative for one of the home exchange services he and his family regularly use.
